Use your Brain to help your Heart
A wonderful woman once said to me ”use your brain to help your heart…”
So often we are torn in a bifurcated society in which the brain and the logical mind split off from what we know intuitively, often at our own expense. This is, in my opinion, the beginning of all anxiety. Those little sometimes deeply buried spaces in which we attempt to substitute reason for the true wisdom of our hearts. We lose ourselves, sometimes the very best parts of ourselves. This is loneliness. And, there is a solution!
The journey from the head to the heart might be the longest 18 inches anyone has ever traveled. In a society that is obsessed with youth and beauty, I believe it is the true fountain of youth that is found inside, at the journey’s end.
For me, there is nothing as inspiring as finding that child within, the essence of our beings and the source of joy that connects us with ourselves and then in a more meaningful way, to others.
We are all on this path. And. As the poet Rumi said, “we are all just walking each other home.”
If by chance you are living less than the life you imagined, perhaps you will walk differently today. I am here to help.
